Fort Pierce Cleaning Service License Requirements (2026)
📋 Your checklist
State
- No Florida state trade license is required for this type of work. You still need the local receipts below.
- Business name and entity filings (Sunbiz)
LLCs and corporations file an annual report ($138.75 for an LLC). Using a name other than your legal name? Register it as a fictitious name.

Local (Fort Pierce / St. Lucie County)
- City of Fort Pierce Certificate of Use (replaces the BTR)
Since July 1, 2024 the city no longer collects business tax receipts; every business location needs a Certificate of Use instead (Ordinance 24-019), one per location, applied for on the city's online portal.

A county receipt may also be required; the city page does not say so. Confirm with the St. Lucie County Tax Collector.

Still to verify for your business
- 🔎 verify: Whether your city/county uses a specific business-tax category for janitorial work (affects the amount, not the deadline)
- 🔎 verify: your exact local business-tax amount (it depends on your category, size and staff)
Never miss a renewal
Get a reminder before each deadline on this page, and a note if an official rule we track changes. Free during the pilot; reminders will later be $4.99/month and we will ask before charging you anything.
