Leesburg Plumber License Requirements (2026)
📋 Your checklist
State
- Florida plumbing contractor license (DBPR CILB)
Florida law says nobody may run a contracting business without being certified (statewide) or registered (local) in the proper classification. Plumbing contractor is its own classification. Unlicensed workers may only work under a licensed contractor's supervision.

LLCs and corporations file an annual report ($138.75 for an LLC). Using a name other than your legal name? Register it as a fictitious name.

Local (Leesburg / Lake County)
- City of Leesburg: no business tax receipt
Leesburg eliminated its annual business tax receipt starting October 1, 2020. New businesses still confirm zoning, get a Change of Use/Occupancy permit and pass a fire inspection before opening.

A county receipt may also be required; the city page does not say so. Confirm with the Lake County Tax Collector.

Still to verify for your business
- 🔎 verify: Your exact DBPR renewal date and fee
- 🔎 verify: Local permit rules for each job (pulled by the licensed contractor)
- 🔎 verify: your exact local business-tax amount (it depends on your category, size and staff)
